Winter is coming. In fact — holy crap! — it’s here. Yep, it’s December. Christmas is around the corner. Then New Years. Then three long months of cold, blustery winter. One our favorite ways to stay warm and jolly throughout winter is by stuffing our faces with good food and spending time with friends and family.

So, we’re very excited to announce our next giveaway: The UPchicago Favorite Things Photo Contest.

To enter, send us your best photo of one of your “favorite things” in Chicago. Whether it’s your favorite skyline view, L stop, café sign, kitchen-table-sized pothole… whatever it is, we wanna know what makes you fall head-over-heels in love with this city over and over again.

The winners get one of our favorite things: a gift certificate to Kith & Kin (read: Friends & Family) This inviting (and deelish!) restaurant in Lincoln Park is the perfect place to warm your spirits and fill your belly on a cold night.

We’ll pick two winning photos to feature on the site, and create a slideshow of our other favorites. So get out there with your camera and show us a few of your favorite things!

Only one entry per person.

Contest closes at midnight on December 22, 2010. Winners will be chosen on December 23, 2010 and announced at Noon on that day.

One first place winner will win one $75 gift certificate to Kith & Kin restaurant in Chicago. One second place winner will win one $25 gift certificate. Gift certificates will be mailed to winners within two business days of contest end date. UPchicago staff members and contributors are not eligible to enter.

By participating in this Contest, all participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. By entering, each participant agrees to release Sponsor and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, sales representatives, distributors and advertising and promotion agencies (collectively the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, loss, damage or injury or death of any kind sustained in connection with his/her participation in this Contest or from his/her acceptance, receipt, possession and/or use or misuse of any prize, or for any typographical or other error in the printing, offering or announcement of any prize
