Wrigleyville’s favorite droopy-eyed basset hound has relocated to a new home, nearly kiddy corner from its original location on Clark. Upon first entering the new Houndstooth Saloon, anyone familiar with the prior spot will experience some serious dejavu, as the layout is very similar to the original, from the placement of tables to the antler adorned chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. However, the new location is a fresh, updated version of the original (even the deer head mounted on the wall seems to have a modern look about it) and is approximately two times as large, which means more room for dancing, drinking, and cheering on the Crimson Tide (the Houndstooth is the official gathering spot for University of Alabama alumni). Everything people love about the Houndstooth is still the same: the good music, the friendly staff, the delicious food, and the great deals that are offered daily. On Thursday nights the Houndstooth still hosts its infamous Country night, so throw on your cowboy boots and mosey on over for $1 sliders and $5 High Life pitchers. The Houndstooth is one of my favorite spots for a down to earth good time, so whether you are a tried and true regular or a ‘Tooth novice, you’ll definitely want to check out this new hot spot.
