Located right across from the Bean in Millennium Park you really can’t ask for a better location for a restaurant. Easy to access by Loop workers and park tourists alike, this place is always bustling. The Gage has a lively upscale pub atmosphere and really does English food right.

Any meal here should start with The Gage cocktail, a wonderful combination of Grey Goose Le Poire, Elderflower and Moscato. They also have a great beer selection and they regularly hold beer dinners. Just a glance around the dining room will tell you that their Guinness-battered fish and chips is a popular option.

I ate here during restaurant week and was so tempted by everything on the regular menu that I hope to return soon. Everything was delicious and mostly affordable, but not cheap. This is a great place to take out-of-towners after a day at the Art Institute or exploring downtown.

Like the Gage and want to try somewhere else? Check out it’s sister restaurant, Henri, a new french spot right next door.
