Gemini Bistro (Restaurant, Lincoln Park)
Location: 2075 N. Lincoln
Gemini Bistro is a great new neighborhood spot in Lincoln Park, located in the space that Braun Drugs occupied for years. On the corner of Lincoln and Dickens, the restaurant has a lovely patio for perfect for drinks and dinner on cool summer evenings, as well as an atmospheric indoors. The decor is sleek and contemporary without being stuffy.
The unique menu is organized by Small ($7-12), Medium ($12-15) and Large ($17-26) plates. The portion sizes are appropriate, so it is easy to order one from each. Servers encourage you to get creative, too: everyone gets a small plate, you share a few mediums, and everyone gets a large plate (or whatever your heart desires). If you’re looking for an inexpensive, early meal, go for the 3-course prix-fixe menu. It’s $39 and offered nightly from 5 – 6:30pm.
The food is lovely and the menu changes often. Standouts include the beat salad, braised short rib ravioli and the duck tacos. I’ve also enjoyed the Sweet Pea Risotto, the Amish Chicken, and the Caesar Salad, which comes topped in a deliciously light vinaigrette version of a Caesar dressing. Every dinner here must end with the Skillet Cookie Sundae: a warm, gooey, thick chocolate chip cookie cooked in a skillet served right out of the oven topped with ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauce. Save room for it! There’s also an extensive wine list, and the drink menu boasts several inventive signature cocktails.
Open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday and Sunday Brunch.
