So you’re waiting for the L on your way to work; it’s freezing, you missed your alarm and woke up late, this is gonna be a bad day. But, wait! It’s Santa… on the L? The CTA holiday train will be back this season and just released its schedule detailing when Santa will be visiting your L line. The Santa Express will visit each L line and will be decorated with bright lights and Christmas cheer. Santa and his reindeer will lead the six-car train and holiday music will accompany your ride.
The train began in 1992 as a CTA charity initiative, delivering holiday meals to needy charities around the city. These days it’s one of Chicago’s favorite ways to spread Christmas cheer. If you find yourself on the CTA holiday train, be sure to wish your fellow passengers a happy holidays. And maybe, just maybe, your day won’t be so bad.
