Chicago loves rocking out in the summer, so many of the summer’s street fests are dedicated to music. Hundreds of local, national, and international bands will play on the streets of Chicago this summer, so check out the list below to find out where you want to take in some of the best music this summer.

Chicago Gospel Music Festival
When: June 5-6
Where: 201 E. Randolph, Museum Campus
Price: Free
Basic Info: It’s exactly what it sounds like. Catch more than 50 live performances.

June Jam
When: June 5-6
Where: 3500 N. Hoyne. Hoyne and Cornelia, Roscoe Village.
Price: $5 donation
Basic Info: Food and drink vendors, kids activities, and live bands.

Chicago Blues Festival
When: June 11-13
Where: 300 S. Columbus Drive, Grant Park.
Price: Free
Basic Info: The largest free outdoor blues event in the world! Six different stages throughout Grant Park with great blues music all weekend long.

Metronome Celebration
When: June 12-13
Where: 2000 N. Milwaukee, Logan Square.
Price: $5 donation
Basic Info: More than 20 bands play on two different stages. Food and art vendors also on site.

Chicago Summer Dance Festival
When: June 17-August 29
Where: 601 S. Michigan Avenue, Grant Park.
Price: Free
Basic Info: Events all designed to get you to get up and dance! Each event includes an hour of professional dance instruction. Check out their website for more information.

Taste of Chicago
When: June 25-July 4
Where: 100 E. Congress Parkway, Grant Park.
Price: Free

Green Music Fest
When: June 26-27
Where: 1600 W. Ashland Avenue, Chicago and Ashland, Ukranian Village.
Price: Free
Basic Info: This festival celebrates and promotes all things green. Live music and eco-friendly demos.

Boulevard Bash – The Logan Square Music Festival
When: June 9-11
Where: 3100 W. Logan Blvd. Logan Blvd & Milwaukee Avenue, Logan Square.
Price: TBA
Basic Info: Proceeds go to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Chicago Folk and Roots Festival
When: July 10-11
Where: 2333 W. Sunnyside Avenue, Welles Park, Lincoln Square.
Price: $10 donation
Basic Info: Live music on four different stages from international artists. Food and drink vendors, kids activities, craft vendors.

Rock Around the Block

When: July 10-11
Where: 3200 N. Lincoln Ave, Lincoln & Belmont, Lakeview.
Price: $5 donation
Basic Info: Food and craft vendors. Local bands perform live music.

Southside neighborhood Gospel Festival
When: July 17
Where: 6500 S. Racine, Englewood.
Price: Free
Basic Info: All the Gospel performances you can handle. Food vendors and kids activities.

The Silver Room’s Sound System Block Party
When: July 24
Where: Evergreen and Milwaukee Avenue, Bucktown/Wicker Park.
Price: Free
Basic Info: Two outdoor stages and food vendors. Mural artists and fashion shows.

Lincoln Park Arts and Music Festival
When: July 31 – Aug 1
Where: 2200 N. Racine, Lincoln Park
Price: $5 donation
Basic Info: Live music, food and drinks from local establishments and art displays and vendors.

Lollpalooza
When: August 6-8
Where: Grant Park
Price: Ticket prices available on lollapalooza.com
Basic Info: This three day music festival loved Chicago so much, they signed on four years ago to stay for good at Grant Park instead of touring the country. Lake View Music Fest
When: August 28-29
Where: Sheffield and Addison, Wrigleyville.
Price: $5-7 donation
Basic Info: More Wrigleyville fun right by the field. Live music, arts and crafts vendors and food vendors.

North Coast Music Festival
When: September 3-5
Where: Union Park, West Loop.

Basic Info: Local, national, and international jazz musicians dazzle Chicago.

Viva! Chicago Latin Music Festival
When: September 17-18
Where: Millennium Park.
Price: Free
Basic Info: Local and international artists celebrate Latin Music.
