Wrigleyville Neighborhood Guide
![]() |
Neighborhood Overview
Wrigleyville needs little explanation with a namesake like the historic Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. These residents are some of the proudest (and loudest) Chicagoans, and take every opportunity to display that pride. Cubs attire isn’t just for game day, and neither is beer drinking. Wrigleyville is a popular destination for the young and rowdy, with no shortage of watering holes.
But this neighborhood has more to offer than drunk Cubs fans and fly balls. Though it occupies a small pocket of Lakeview, tons of opportunities surround the area, and easy public transportation access makes it a cinch to get to and from Wrigleyville. Just minutes from the developing Southport Corridor, there’s plenty of shopping and dining to be done. In fact, only a few blocks west of the Field lies a quiet residential neighborhood where young families and recent college grads have begun to move in. Granted, the area isn’t exactly up-and coming… it’s been around for quite a while. But with stores like Anthropologie popping up next to newly constructed condo buildings, it’s hard to deny the area is undergoing major renovation.
With a close proximity to the lake, Wrigleyville residents can easily take in the eastward views, or even get a little exercise themselves. Or for music buffs, the beloved Metro stands just blocks away from the Field pumping out great music from local and international bands nightly. So, for those of you who think the only thing that goes on in Wrigleyville is shotgunning beers and staggering home, explore the other options that the area has to offer next time you’re in the neighborhood. You may surprise yourself.
