Neighborhood Overview

Lakeview is one of Chicago’s most populated North Side neighborhoods, offering a little something for every Chicagoan. Whether you’re looking for a grungy tattoo parlor, cheering on your Cubbies in a pink polo shirt, or roller-blading on the lakefront, you can certainly find your niche in Lakeview.

Full of bars, restaurants, stores, and cafes, Lakeview is a popular stomping grounds for Chicago’s younger set. The location is ideal for many, with a close proximity to the Lake and convenient access to public transportation.

This expansive neighborhood is often divided into several smaller areas known as Lakeview East, Wrigleyville, and West Lakeview. East Lakeview also is home to one of the largest and most famous gay populations in the country, in an area that is commonly referred to as Boystown. The recently trendy Southport Corridor has become the central element in West Lakeview, attracting new residents and shoppers thanks to the myriad of condos and boutiques that are popping up. And of course, we all know the namesake of Wrigleyville, the home of the Cubs.
