Berry Chill

Instead of heading down to the Yum Yum Shoppe and indulging in something hazardous to your health, stroll over to Berry Chill and savor every last bite of a cool light-and-tangy refreshment. Plasma screen menus and trendy décor welcome you to this boutique-like experience. Not only is Berry Chill tasty and healthy, they also recycle and contribute to charity. Wait, do Brad and Angelina know about this place?

Berry Chill has three flavors of yogurt: the original and two flavors of the month. For example, March tempted with Maqui-Blueberry and Strawberry-Banana. They also have countless toppings, including everything from pomegranate seeds to Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

At Berry Chill, there is a concoction for every personality. For the Funky-Fashionista: original yogurt with strawberries, Fruity Pebbles, and Gummy Bears. For the Intellectual: strawberry-banana yogurt with kiwi, yogurt chips, and chocolate chips. For the Artist: Maqui-Blueberry mixed with fresh blueberries, marshmallows, and Cap’n Crunch. Steal one of these combinations or create your own – either way you’re in for a treat… one that won’t throw off your workout, that is.

When the nutrition facts are blown up and plastered on the wall, you know the establishment is proud of them. And who wouldn’t be with a product that boasts only 20 to 25 calories per yogurt! Not only is Berry Chill’s yogurt low in calories and fat, it’s also high in “live and active cultures”. Bearing the seal of the National Yogurt Association, Berry Chill’s yogurt contains at least 10 million active cultures per gram. Yogurt this rich in nutrients has proven to increase one’s metabolism, boost immune response, and lower LDL (bad cholesterol) and raise HDL (good cholesterol). Not only will your body thank you for visiting Berry Chill, the environment and various charities will, too.

All of Berry Chill’s containers and utensils are 100% recyclable and 100% amusing. The yogurt spoons change colors, from green to purple, when in contact with a cold substance. This makes them great to reuse for cereal, soup, or balancing on your nose. And if you find yourself coming back for more, why not join the Berry Chill Culture Club? Bring your membership card every time you visit Berry Chill, and they will donate 3% of each sale to your choice of partner charities such as the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and the Mercy Home.

If you don’t have time to revel in the experience that is Berry Chill, still get a taste and order for delivery. And for all you nighthawks, Berry Chill is open late (one location until 2 a.m.)! So make it happen like the Cap’n, and come chill at Berry Chill.

(I’ll be the nut munching on an original topped with watermelon, carob chips, and Coo-OOOkie Crisp.)

About Natalie Scheid

When Mattel manufactures your idol and your nickname is Barbie life can get pretty unreal. My favorite activities include cheering on the White Sox (I’ve been converting Cubs fans since 1986), meeting new people and writing on the rooftop with the skyline as my backdrop. You might be able to find me at the opening of a new hot spot, soaking up some culture at a local museum or art show, or enjoying one of the cities fabulous festivals. So…. catch me if you can!
